Healing/Shamanic Practice
My
absolute favorite author about healing the
relationship between Earth and Humanity,
starting with the individual’s own experience of
Nature, is Stephen Harrod Buhner. All of his
books are breath taking on every level. The
best are "The Lost
Language of Plants" and
"Sacred Plant Medicine."
I encountered them in my study of herbal
medicine, but they go way beyond herbal
medicine. Even if you aren’t an herbalist,
these books will inspire you. If you are
an herbalist, they will introduce you to, and
take you deep within, shamanic herbalism.
Another
powerful book by Stephen Buhner is
"One Spirit Many Peoples:
A Manifesto for Earth Spirituality."
Sandra
Ingerman makes Earth Healers out of us in her
books "Medicine for the
Earth: How to Transform Personal and
Environmental Toxins" and
"How to Heal Toxic
Thoughts." She reminds us that “it is
not what we do, but who we become, that will
heal the Earth.”
She
writes a very inspiring monthly column, called
“Transmutation News",
about becoming Love and Light on the planet

Brooke Medicine Eagle.

and wonderful book about journeying and
shamanism is "The Shamanic
Drum: A Guide to Sacred Drumming", by
Michael Drake.
Check

Feeling Our Fire, Healing Our World – The New
Female Shamanism", by Vicki Noble.
Earth Healing
Marshall
Rosenberg offers books about Non Violent
communication – creating peace in our
interactions with each other. "Speak
Peace in a World of Conflict" is an
especially good one.
"A
New Earth", by Eckhart Tolle – changing
ourselves to change the world.
Reiki
"God’s Touch: Faith,
Wholeness, and the Healing Miracles of Jesus"
and "Reiki Healing Touch
and the Way of Jesus" are two exceptional
books by Christian minister and pastor, Bruce
Epperly.
"The Original Reiki
Handbook of Dr. Mikao Usui", by Dr. Mikao
Usui and Frank Arjavo Petter covers what we need
to know about hands on Reiki practice.
"Intuitive Reiki for Our Times: Essential
Techniques for Enhancing Your Practice", by Amy
Z. Rowland, is a wonderful introduction to
unleashing your intuition and expanding your
Reiki practice.

Ron Roth
has written numerous books on prayer, spiritual
healing, walking the spiritual path – read them
all!!!
"Grace Unfolding: The Art
of Living a Surrendered Life", by Paul
Ferrini is a powerful book. He has written many
books, all very inspiring.

The Spiritual Path
Ram Dass
has written many books over the years – read
them all!! He is a master at supporting us in
walking this sometimes challenging Earth Life.
I especially love "Grist
for the Mill" and
"Still Here" (about his life after a
debilitating stroke), and
"How Can I Help"
(about the path of Service).
Death
"Healing into Life and
Death", by Stephen Levine is a beautiful
book about the journey into death.
The Stone Spirits
The best reference
manual about rocks and crystals that I’ve worked
with is "The Book
of Stones: Who They Are and What They Teach",
by Robert Simmons & Naisha Ahsian.
